Zuckerberg Takes Facebook Team to Watch ‘The Social Network’ in Theaters

Mark Zuckerberg might not be everyone’s favorite tech bro, but we can all agree on one thing: having a movie made about your life would be pretty weird.

During a recent YouTube podcast interview with Colin and Samir, Zuckerberg opened up about his thoughts on “The Social Network,” the 15-year-old movie loosely based on his life. He mentioned how strange it was to see the film and how some details were accurate, while the overall story arc missed the mark on his motivations and personal life.

The mention of the movie came up when Zuckerberg was spotted wearing the same T-shirt Jesse Eisenberg wore in the film. While he used to be known for his simple grey tees, he’s upped his style game since then. And no, it probably wasn’t a coincidence that he chose to wear that specific T-shirt.

Zuckerberg later arranged for his employees to watch “The Social Network” together, knowing they’d be curious. He pointed out that the movie portrayed him as motivated by trying to find a girlfriend, even though he was already dating Priscilla when he started Facebook.

Some speculate that this portrayal of Zuckerberg’s motives stems from his earlier creation, Facemash, a controversial website where students could vote on the hottest classmates. The site, which scraped private student ID photos, sparked both interest and outrage among users.

Zuckerberg adamantly denies that Facemash was a precursor to Facebook, blaming the persistence of this myth on “The Social Network” movie. He emphasizes that he was just a regular kid back then, not the tech mogul he is today.
