Meta’s social network, Threads, has reached 275 million monthly active users, the company announced on Sunday. Adam Mosseri, the Meta executive in charge of Threads and Instagram, expressed gratitude to everyone who has contributed to this milestone and acknowledged that there is still more work to be done.

Launched in July 2023 following Elon Musk’s acquisition of X, Threads has quickly grown its user base and emerged as one of the leading text-first social networks. By April, it had reached 150 million MAUs, and by August, it had surpassed 200 million MAUs, adding 75 million active users in just three months.

During Meta’s Q3 2024 conference call last week, CEO Mark Zuckerberg revealed that Threads is attracting a million new users daily.

Despite its growing popularity, Threads is grappling with moderation issues that have left some users frustrated.
