Pawport, a pet tech startup based in Phoenix, is making a splash at CES 2025 with its upgraded Smart Pet Door. The latest version includes an additional exterior door for added security.
If you’re tired of dealing with bugs, or worse, raccoons and other unwanted critters sneaking into your home through traditional pet doors, Pawport might just have the perfect solution. This smart pet door system, initially introduced at last year’s CES, is built with sturdy, powder-coated steel and aluminum, featuring two solid deadbolts to withstand harsh weather conditions and keep out unwanted animals.
Thanks to a tracker tag and motion-sensing technology, the door automatically opens as your furry friend approaches. Plus, there’s a handy companion app that lets you control the door remotely, set schedules for when it should open or close, and even give voice commands through Alexa, Siri, or Google.

The latest model includes both an interior and exterior door linked by a small tunnel for enhanced security. Compared to other pet doors available, Pawport is designed to be one of the most secure options, especially in regions like California where coyote attacks are on the rise. Just last summer, a man and his chihuahua were reportedly harmed by a coyote that entered their home through a dog door.
To ensure added safety, the smart pet door comes equipped with sensitivity sensors that prevent doors from closing on a pet as they come in or out of the house. Additionally, there’s an option to deactivate the top panel controls to keep children from accidentally opening the door and sneaking through. In case of a power outage, Pawport’s rechargeable battery pack keeps the door running smoothly, so your pets won’t be stranded indoors or outdoors.
Pawport is priced starting at $500 and is set to hit the market in early 2025.
