Biden administration once again rejects Tesla’s $100 million request for big-rig charging funds

The Department of Transportation has announced a new round of funding totaling $636 million for electric vehicle charging infrastructure, with grants going out to 49 recipients. The company is currently in the process of constructing a facility in Nevada for the production of its electric semi-truck.

In 2023, Tesla initially requested funding from the Charging and Fueling Infrastructure (CFI) program, a component of the bipartisan infrastructure deal signed into law by President Biden in 2021.
