D-ID, an AI video platform, has just unveiled two new types of avatars for content creation: Express and Premium+.
Many companies are striving to develop AI avatars that appear more human-like, with the potential to handle video creation for various enterprise applications such as marketing, sales, and customer support. By using different generative models, it becomes easier to create business videos with minimal text input and visual data that don’t seem entirely out of place. D-ID’s latest avatars aim to enhance its competitiveness in this fast-growing market.
The Express avatars can be trained with only about one minute of video and are capable of mimicking users’ head movements while speaking. On the other hand, Premium+ is the company’s top-tier model, requiring a few minutes of recording for training but capable of replicating AI avatars with detailed hand and torso movements. With these intricate movements, the avatars come across as more human-like when interacting with other users.

D-ID has mentioned that the Premium+ models can facilitate real-time interactions, making them suitable for applications like webinars and translations. The company is looking to leverage these avatars for enterprise tasks such as generating sales leads, engaging customers, and running personalized marketing campaigns.
According to D-ID CEO Gil Perry, “We believe the most effective way to engage with AI models is through face-to-face interaction, which is why we’ve developed these hyper-realistic avatars and a natural user interface. Additionally, we anticipate that business professionals will create digital avatars of themselves. It’s crucial for us to ensure that these avatars are secure and built in a safe manner to prevent any misuse of the technology.”
D-ID emphasized that personalized video campaigns have a higher impact, leading to a 30% increase in click-through rates and a 35% boost in conversion rates. In addition to the new avatars, the company is rolling out its enterprise marketing suite, which includes tools like interactive avatars and AI influencers for brands, video campaign generation, translation support in 30 languages, integration with platforms such as Canva and PowerPoint, and API-driven integration with CRMs and marketing automation tools.
While D-ID’s new avatars are currently confined to its desktop studio tools, the company has plans to extend this technology to its mobile app in the near future.
