Aurora, an extensively unrestricted image AI, was recently introduced on X within the Grok chatbot experience.. (X, also owned by Musk, often functions as a testing platform for Grok.) According to a blog post by xAI, the improved Grok is now “three times faster” and boasts enhanced accuracy, instruction-following capabilities, and multi-lingual features.
While free users are limited to asking Grok 10 questions every two hours, subscribers to X’s Premium and Premium+ plans enjoy higher usage limits.
In addition, xAI introduced a new feature called the “Grok button” on X, aimed at aiding users in discovering relevant context, understanding real-time events, and delving deeper into trending conversations.
xAI also disclosed several updates to its enterprise API.
The company revealed that its API now includes two new Grok models designed for improved efficiency and multilingual performance, resulting in reduced pricing from $5 to $2 per million input tokens and from $15 to $10 per million output tokens.
Furthermore, xAI mentioned that in the upcoming weeks, its image generation model, Aurora, will be integrated into the API. Elon Musk’s AI company xAI is currently involved in a growing legal dispute with OpenAI but that isn’t stopping it from launching new products – even on a Friday night.
