X Increases Premium+ Prices by 37.5%, impacting certain markets more heavily

X is bumping up the price of its top-tier subscription service, Premium+, by 37.5%, now coming in at $22 a month. This marks the biggest price jump since Elon Musk took over the platform in 2022. The increase will kick in for U.S. users first, going up from $16, starting on December 21. Annual subscriptions have also seen a spike, now at $229 from $168.

According to a statement, X mentioned it was “adjusting” prices to support the experience it provides. Current subscribers will keep their current rates until January 20.

International users will also see price bumps, with the European Union moving to €21 from €16 per month. Canada will have Premium+ rates go up to $29 from $20. However, some regions will experience more drastic changes. Nigerian users will now pay ₦34,000 monthly, up from ₦7,300, and Turkish users will see a jump to ₺770 from ₺300 for the service.

The platform’s basic subscription tier will remain at $3 a month.
