Linktree unveils new monetization tools for content creators

Linktree is rolling out a set of fresh features to assist creators in boosting their earnings directly from its platform. The brand-new tools allow users to sell courses, generate income from brand-sponsored links, and construct shoppable storefronts. These monetization features are aimed at setting Linktree apart from competitors like Beacons and Shorby, expanding on its existing link-in-bio service.

Furthermore, these new features position Linktree to compete with platforms like Patreon, accommodating creators who wish to monetize their skills. By partnering with Kajabi, Linktree enables creators to craft and sell courses, fostering the monetization of their expertise. With this capability, a fitness trainer could share workout programs, while a musician could teach their craft through courses. Creators have the flexibility to set prices for their courses and start earning through a Stripe integration.

Additionally, Linktree is simplifying the process for creators to sell digital products like e-books, templates, and guides, among others. While this was previously possible through a partnership with SendOwl, creators are now empowered to sell digital goods directly through Linktree. This adjustment allows Linktree to apply a take rate on digital goods sold via the platform, contingent upon the Linktree plan in use. This update follows Patreon’s introduction of one-off digital goods sales, confirming Linktree’s commitment to helping creators monetize their content.

In the U.S., every Linktree user can now set up a shop to earn commissions on products, facilitating earnings from brands like Target, Amazon, Lululemon, and Revolve. Alternatively, creators can opt to include affiliate links in their Linktree account. Moreover, brands now have the option to compensate creators for promoting their products on Linktree through sponsored links. For instance, a creator could earn money when a follower subscribes to Hulu via their Linktree. These sponsored links will be clearly labeled as “sponsored.”

Linktree is introducing a new incentive program called “Rewards” that offers creators additional perks, such as bonus commissions upon reaching specific milestones. This program could lead to direct collaborations with brands, enhancing creators’ earning potential. Each creator will gain access to a new “wallet” that consolidates their earnings from the platform’s various features. This wallet serves as a central hub for all earnings, whether from courses, digital products, sponsored links, or the Linktree Shop. The latest monetization features can be accessed by Linktree’s user base of over 70 million users through the new “Earn” section in their Linktree account, available on the app or web platform.
